The work involves: design of rainwater catchment, stormwater treatment
& reuse system, soil amendments, subsurface drainage, and landscaping. The stormwater treatment & reuse system
consists of sand filtration, stormwater wetland pond, intermittent sand
filtration, solar pumping system, four waterfalls then recirculating back
through the wetland pond. Project will received 2011 LEED Platinum Award

The project consists of the
design of environmentally sustainable and innovative freshman complex for LEED
certification as consultant to Ayers/Saint/Gross Architects. The work involves: design of rainwater
catchment, stormwater reuse system, and green roof soil and drainage system for
construction on top of the parking deck for the freshman hall #4. The work also involves responsibility for

The project involved the
redesign of existing landscape irrigation system and design of roof rainwater
catchment, storage and treatment system for NC General Assembly building. The building was built in the 1960’s with a
roof plaza and garden. The redesign achieved
reuse of stormwater, reduce use of potable water, and pollutant removal through
on-site biological treatment in the landscape.

The project involved the
planning and design of largest urban park environmental and landscape
restoration project in world; as consultant to Central Park Conservancy, Inc. Project involved restoration of Great Lawn and
Belvedere Lake that was constructed over turn of
20th century landfill.
Project work included geotechnical investigations, stabilization of
landfill cap, design of 24-acre bioretention stormwater treatment system, hydrologic
and drainage modeling over 72-years of metrological records, construction of
landfill water management system, assessment of metals contamination, and
dredging and disposal of lake contaminated sediments. Belvedere
Lake was rebuilt to include deep water
habitats, shallow water marshes, Turtle
Island, observation deck
and birding screen. The lake now serves
as Outdoor Ecological Center
for Borough of Manhattan Schools.

Cedar Hill Restoration, Central Park, New York, NY,
1994
The project involved the
planning and design of restoration of Cedar Hill, a portion of Central Park
immediately south of Metropolitan
Museum of Art and
adjacent to 5th Avenue. The plan involved preservation of mature
evergreen forest, design of snow sledding hill, and redesign of surface and
subsurface drainage facilities; and replacement of decayed 1865-cir. subsurface
wooden tile drainage lines. The project
used a method of soil restoration incorporating high rates of composted humus
to increase water holding capacity of hill side soils.

The project consists of a forensic flooding and sedimentation study of
approximately 32,000 acres in the Moreau River floodplain and study of
allegations regarding US Army Corps of Engineers Oahe Reservoir project in
northwest South Dakota. The work was conducted pursuant to suit in U.S. Federal Court of Claims alleging 1997 flood
and sediment damages to agricultural bottomlands in the Cheyenne River Sioux
Indian Reservation, Dewey
County, SD. Sediment layers along a 28-mile section of
the Moreau River were correlated with flood
events from 1968 through 2003. The age
of older sediment layers was determined by AMS 14C radiocarbon
dating analysis.
US Department of Justice,
Washington, DC and US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, Rock
Island, IL, for Drainage Districts in IL
& MO, 2004
The project consisted of a forensic soil and surficial groundwater study
of approximately 2,900 acres, DRAINMOD computer simulation modeling, and impact
evaluation of allegations regarding US Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi
River Nine Foot Navigational Channel at Lock & Dam 18 and 22, completed in
1937. The work was conducted pursuant to
suit in U.S.
Federal Court of Claims. The project
involved allegations of $440 million in flooding and drainage damages to
agricultural lands behind the levees at Henderson County Drainage District #3,
IL and Marion County Drainage District,
MO. The water table computer simulation for 1950
through 2002 was prepared to determine the cause and effect of the high water
tables in the drainage districts and in determining how the problems could be
resolved through the use of modern agricultural water management controls.

The project consisted of a forensic soil and
groundwater assessment study, DRAINMOD computer simulation modeling, and impact
evaluation of influence of Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge water management plans
and its affect on adjacent farm properties in Tyrrell County, NC. The computer simulation model was used to
predict crop yields and determine the factor affecting the yields. The work was conduct for the defense of suit
in U.S Federal Court of Claims for damages to adjacent farmlands.

connecting to Water of the United States versus connection to isolated waters
under State jurisdiction. I prepared an
expert report for administrative appeal of jurisdictional decision by U.S. Army Corps

to groundwater, and subsurface migration through the soils to Cape Fear River. I prepared expert reports, proof of

The project involved a study of alternative roadway design analysis for Davis
Drive widening to reduce the potential damages to the Prestonwood golf course;
alternative cost of cures were determined for reconstruction of portion of the
golf course; the alternatives and appraised damages were used to negotiate
preferred roadway designs and thereby elimination of potential condemnation of
golf course.

Carolina; I served as expert witness on behalf of
defendants re: valuation of property that was condemned, allegations that flood
plain and wetlands were not developable land by plaintiff. I prepared expert report, deposition
testimony, assisted in deposition of plaintiff’s experts, and court testimony;
defendants were awarded a substantial increase in the value for the property by

categorical exclusions of numerous types of industries. We worked with the Charlotte Chamber of
Commerce and Mecklenburg

work involved increasing the net usable land by 974 acres and savings to the
client of over 73 million dollars.

master plan design, ecological studies, wetland delineation and permitting,

nutrient removal and turbidity controls, stormwater infiltration system design
for individual residential and commercial lots, park and open space design, and
neighborhood site designs.

The project involved
multi-disciplinary planning, design, and engineering of 1,800-acre mixed-use
golf course community. The work involved rezoning of property, master plan
approval, transportation planning and design, water and sewer extensions,
ecological studies, wetland delineation and permitting, environmental planning
and permitting, stormwater system design including nutrient removal and
turbidity controls, park and open space design, and neighborhood site
designs. The project was the largest
land development project in the City of Raleigh.

The project involved
multi-disciplinary planning, design, and engineering of 2,200-acre mixed-use
golf course community. The work involved rezoning of property, master plan
approval, transportation planning and design, water and sewer extensions,
ecological studies, wetland delineation and permitting, environmental planning
and permitting, stormwater system design, park and open space design, and
neighborhood site designs. The flood
study involved revision to FEMA floodplain for West Branch of Crabtree Creek,
East Branch of Crabtree Creek, and Coles Branch. The project was the largest land development
project in the Town of Cary.

The project consisted of multi-disciplinary
planning, design, and engineering of ecologically sustainable 75-acre sound
fronting retirement community for Theodore Roosevelt Estate. The work involved ecological studies of
maritime forest island system, vegetation management plans, landscape plans,
soil and groundwater studies, wetland delineation and permitting, innovative
non-discharge stormwater system design, roadway design, water and sewer design, wastewater treatment
plant design, innovative disposal system within maritime forest.

multi-disciplinary planning, design, and engineering of ecologically sustainable
750-acre ocean and sound fronting resort residential community for Theodore
Roosevelt Estate. The work involved ecological studies of maritime forest
